Product designer
I led the UX for a company-wide bank transition and funds migration in Q4 2024, designing a seamless in-app migration flow during the banking switch. This facilitated the migration of over $30M in HSA funds for more than 23K users (20 customers) within a 2-month sprint, ensuring a smooth and user-friendly experience throughout the process.
A little bit of background
Context
Forma previously relied on Unit as our BaaS provider, who partnered with Blue Ridge Bank to support Forma's pre-tax benefit accounts. However, when Blue Ridge Bank faced regulatory issues in January 2024, Unit needed to switch to a new banking partner. This meant Forma had to migrate all user and employer accounts to the new bank, while ensuring everything stayed compliant and running smoothly. I took the lead in designing a seamless migration process that kept disruption to a minimum, made necessary actions clear, and helped maintain trust throughout the entire experience.
Challenge
This project moved quickly. Nearly the entire company was focused on delivering it under an extremely tight timeline. Strategy shifted frequently as leadership responded to evolving constraints, which meant priorities changed almost daily. As the designer, I had to stay closely aligned with the latest updates, quickly adapt to shifting requirements, and make smart decisions even when information was incomplete or still evolving.
